Gain Attention, Personal Information Page and Main Menu
In creating BOTH your Personal e-Portfolio and your MIP v.2 project, you are also required to design and develop an introductory sequence that solicits and gains user’s interest. This is intended to keep the interest of your user to continue viewing your interactive multimedia work.
Following a brief “Gain Attention” sequence (about 10 second prelude), you need to create a MAIN MENU screen that links to all other director files that you have created or will create in near future. This MAIN MENU screen is like a Table of Contents that hyperlinks to all other Director files such as your Personal Information file, e-Banner files, MP3 Album file, Academic Writing file, PSD Art gallery files, E-Resume files, DC Instructional Unit file, Acknowledgement file, References file as well as other necessary Director files designed and developed for your Interactive Multimedia E-Portfolio.
Acknowledgement file and References file
You need to also create Acknowledgement and Reference files as part of your e-Portfolio. These are TWO (2) separate director files. The Acknowledgement file is to thank and express your gratitude to those who have assisted you directly or indirectly in completing your work. This includes the AlMighty Allah SWT, your parents, your lecturers, your friends and so on. The References file is to acknowledge and give references to all digital materials that you have borrowed, modified, and redesigned from the cyber world. Follow the APA format.
Copying other people’s intellectual properties and claiming them as yours or not giving proper citations can be considered plagiarising, intentionally or unintentionally. PLAGIARISM is an ACADEMIC CRIME!!! If caught, you can be dismissed from the University.
You are to develop and complete all assignments using appropriate Multimedia production tools and transfer them all into Adobe Director as your Interactive Multimedia platform. Apply and include all necessary multimedia elements where possible incorporating other computer applications such as Flash, SwishMax, Goldwave, Photoshop and others.
NOTE: Your work is due on the 14th Week (or to be announced) of the semester. Constantly develop, design and incorporate all your multimedia work into your main Director folder.
- ALL the original Director files of all your e-Portfolio work.
- E-Portfolio Projector file – converting all Director files of your e-Portfolio work as a standalone file.
- Include all necessary files and folders as mentioned above
- Burn your e-Portfolio onto a CDR. Include your full name, student id and your mobile number on the CD.
Your Director FOLDER should have at least the following files and sub-folders:
(I) For Personal e-Portfolio Assignment:
- Gaining Attention sequence
- Main Menu screen
- Personal Information page
- Other related Assignment files: e-Banner, MP3 Album, PSD Art gallery, E-Resume, etc.

Include also all necessary sub-folders such as Director Xtras folder, ‘Fonts’ folder, SWF folder, Graphic folder, Video&Audio clip folder, and other necessary files such as .dcr files, .swf files, .jpg and/or .gif files, etc.
